A glittering awards ceremony held at the prestigious Celtic Manor resort and organised by the Welsh Government in partnership with National Training Federation for Wales (NTfW), saw Talk Training’s Jobs Growth Wales Participant, Helen Brickley, win the coveted Jobs Growth Wales ‘Outstanding Achiever of the Year’ award against stiff competition from some of the biggest names in the training industry.
Helen Brickley, 24, of Pontllanffraith, Blackwood, got her break into the fashion industry when she successfully applied via Jobs Growth Wales for a role as a fashion administrator at Welsh fashion chain, Goose Island.
Tasked with monitoring and tracking online sales and maintaining their social media and marketing activity, Helen took the company’s online sales from an average £150 a month to a staggering £7,000! However, it wasn’t just Helen’s huge financial contribution to the business that impressed the panel of distinguished judges, but also the massive commitment she makes each day because she has an 80 mile commute to get to work from her home in Blackwood.
A year on, Helen is now a full-time employee and is actively involved in buying trips to London and Italy to identify and promote new fashion lines, and Goose Island has continued its relationship with Talk Training by enrolling Helen onto a fully-funded Business Administration – Level 3 Apprenticeship. Watch a short clip of Helen here.
Well Done to Helen from all staff at Talk Training!!!
