What is the apprenticeship programme in Wales?
The apprenticeship programme in Wales is a training programme that combines on-the-job experience with classroom-based learning. It is designed to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in a particular industry or occupation. Apprenticeships in Wales can start at any time of the year and are available at various levels, including Certificate, Diploma and Degree.
The Welsh Government provides the funding for Apprenticeships in Wales which is also currently part financed by European Social Fund. The Welsh Government and Qualification Wales (QW) works with employers and industry representatives to ensure that apprenticeships meet the needs of the local economy. Welsh Government and Lead training providers work in partnership with other training providers like Talk training to ensure that apprentices receive high-quality training.
Who is eligible for an apprenticeship?
The Apprenticeship programme in Wales is open to people over the age of 16 who are not in full time education and are employed for a minimum of 16 hours per week.
