Talk training has recognised the excellent efforts of Bridgend County Swim Squad, making a donation to the club to support their 2015 club championships.

Bridgend is one of nine swimming performance centres in Wales, but certainly packs a punch bigger than its relatively small size and makes a positive contribution to Welsh and British swimming.

2015 has seen some fantastic achievements for the club, with representation and medal successes at the European Youth Olympics and the Youth Commonwealth Games. Bridgend swimmers also took medals at the two major annual British Swimming Championships and performed excellently at the Welsh Closed and Open Championships.

A number of Bridgend swimmers also represented West Wales in the 2015 UK Inter Counties Championships, where Wales entered two teams, West and East, finishing first and second respectively in division 2 and gaining promotion to division 1 for 2016.

Bridgend also compete in the National Arena League Western premier division, competing against far bigger clubs, including the might of Plymouth, Millfield and Cardiff, and have for the fourth consecutive year, finished in the top eight clubs and secured a place in the regional final to be held on the 12th December 2015.

To top-off the efforts and achievements of 2015, a number of swimmers have been selected by Swim Wales for inclusion in the 2015-16 National Elite, Youth and Skills Academy squads.

Steve Evans, Talk training’s finance director’s daughter is a member of the Bridgend performance squad and said that “swimming is a sport that requires dedication and discipline in abundance. Training involves high levels of commitment and hard work, with some days requiring 5.30am starts and returns for second sessions in the evening – it also means that parents have to get accustomed to very early mornings!”

Bridgend County Swim Squad would like to thank Talk training Ltd for their kind donation in support of their 2015 club championships, and also to congratulate all of the club’s swimmers for their fantastic efforts and hard work through 2015. A big thank you also goes out to everyone involved in the coaching and the running of the club and to the parents of the swimmers for their continuing support.
