On Saint David’s Day 2017, Talk training had a variety of different activities going on around our office to celebrate the life of the Welsh patron saint, David. The office was decorated with some Welsh flag banners as well as staff wearing their Welsh themed, or red, clothing.

We then invited all staff to take part in a Welsh themed Bake Off, with all entries baked at home, that was judged on taste as well as presentation. A total of 7 entries were submitted ranging from Welsh Cakes to Cupcakes to Bara Brith, with the Directors deciding that the Cupcakes, baked by Linda McGrath (Operations Administrator), as the winner.

Following this, we laid out the remainder of the Bake-Off food alongside some extras that were purchased specifically for the occasion. All foods included in the mini buffet were of Welsh origin and laid out for all staff and learners to enjoy.

We then proceeded to take advantage of our newly introduced training room, The Llynfi Valley Suite, to allow staff to partake in an interactive quiz using their smart devices. Through Kahoot, a quiz based application for Apple or Android, all staff enjoyed the fun of engaging over the Welsh themed quiz that was pre-created. The winner, Joan Carroll (Operations Administrator), walked away with some Cadbury Roses.

We then announced our Name the Dragon competition which was won by Emma Tanner (Sales Coordinator) with her name Wyn the Dragon (pronounced win).  Wyn now sits firmly in the Sales office waiting to be taken on adventurous visits out in the delivery field.

The day was finished with a lovely group photo of all staff who came in wearing their Welsh themed or red clothing.
