Who is the qualification for?
As part of Welsh Governments Net Zero Skills Action Plan to create a Stronger, Fairer, Greener Wales for all, the Energy and Carbon Management qualification has been developed to provide the knowledge and skills required to help support these priorities. It introduces learners to the principles of energy and carbon management in the workplace, and helps them to understand the economics of energy consumption, supply, demand, and sustainability issues. Employees operating at level 3 play an integral role in supporting organisational objectives through a wide range of functions such as: understanding the importance of whole organisation engagement with energy saving measures, developing working relationships with colleagues, health & safety and dealing with customers.
Typical job roles for this qualification include Junior Energy Manager, Energy Analysts, Facilities Managers, Finance teams involved in Energy budgets, Lifecycle/Maintenance Engineers, New Energy Manager, Up-Skilling Energy Specialists, Energy/Net Zero/Carbon Champion, and Building Energy Supervisor.
