Now in its eighth year, Apprenticeship Week is the time when all eyes are on apprenticeships and it’s all about raising the profile amongst employers, individuals, teachers, parents and the media. Everyone with an interest in apprenticeships across Wales is encouraged to get involved in the Week.

ILM Level 4 Awareness Day

Talk training will be holding an ILM Level 4 awareness day for Apprenticeship Week on Friday the 13th March at our offices in Nantgarw. ILM Level 4 has recently been added to the range of management qualifications delivered by Talk training. This qualification is suitable for individuals who do not have direct reports but are responsible for managing projects and achieving objectives by coordinating and managing external stakeholders.

Employers: Can You Make Someone Great?

Join the 81% of businesses that say employing apprentices makes their workplace more productive. By becoming involved in Apprenticeships in Wales, you are creating a more responsive, motivated workforce with the key skills and experience you and your need.

Apprenticeships are a great way for your business to develop employees with the skills and experience you need.

Apprenticeships are vocational work-based learning training programmes, which usually take from 1 to 3 years to complete. Anyone over 16 can follow an accredited Apprenticeship route across a wide range of industries, professions and occupational sectors.

There are three Apprenticeship levels:

  • Foundation Apprenticeships;
  • Apprenticeship; and
  • Higher Apprenticeships.

Different levels of funding support are available depending on the age of the apprentice and programme being followed (please contact Talk training for more information). Employers determine the salary rates for their apprentices. The only requirement is to be compliant with the appropriate National Minimum Wages rates, which are currently:

*This rate is for apprentices aged 16 to 18 and those aged 19 or over that are on the first year of their learning programme.  All other apprentices are entitled to the National Minimum Wage for their age.

Talk training, is an approved private training provider who can advise and support you and your employees through their chosen apprenticeship programmes, helping to develop your staff for their personal development and your business’ future growth.
